A delegation from the Founzan commune in Burkina Faso visits Mind and Go to meet the creators of DataCup.
A Meeting Between Two Continents
On Wednesday, November 14, Mind&Go presented the DataCup to officials from Burkina Faso. After receiving praise from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, this connected device providing access to digital resources in areas without internet access is expected to expand into a new African country.

For 30 years, ESF 66 has led numerous decentralized cooperation projects in partnership with the Armanioc association in Gers, particularly in Founzan, Burkina Faso. These projects are chosen and implemented directly with the people of Founzan, in areas as diverse as water management, health, agriculture, and education.
These initiatives have helped forge strong ties between French and Burkinabé communities. The 30th anniversary of the association is being celebrated with a week full of activities including conferences, film screenings, concerts, and a large orienteering game.
Alongside these activities, the delegation from Burkina Faso visited Mind&Go, hosted at the Pôle Action Média incubator in Le Soler. This visit allowed our Founzanais to discover the DataCup, which is already deployed in West Africa in several locations across Niger.

Florent THOMAS and Pascal BETSCHEN, the creators of DataCup, led the presentation.
The visitors had the opportunity to discover the tangible benefits that DataCup brings to public action in educational and cultural sectors. Thanks to a cutting-edge nano-computer, powerful connectivity, and tropicalized packaging, this innovation allows a high number of simultaneous consultations through all existing devices (smartphones, tablets, e-readers, computers, televisions...) for populations without internet access.
The Burkina Faso delegation, which discovered Mind&Go and its DataCup, included :
- The Mayor of the Founzan commune
- The Founzan Academy Inspector
- The Headmaster of the Founzan High School
- The Representative of the Youth of Founzan
Now, let's move on to the demonstration !
Pascal BETSCHEN first explained to our guests that the digital data available on the DataCup can be accessed from smartphones, tablets, computers...
All that’s needed is a browser to easily consult the data.

The interface developed by Mind&Go is designed to be simple, ergonomic, and user-friendly, regardless of age or level of computer skills. The resources are organized by purpose (Read, Listen, Watch, Study...) so that everyone can easily discover a wide range of Books, Stories, Audiobooks, Podcasts, Photo Libraries, Video Libraries, Music Scores, Tutorials, Theses, Games, etc...
Next, the topic of content customization and updates was discussed through our platform, which allows synchronization of the DataCups. Pascal then showed the inside of the DataCup to our friends, who had many technical questions to which we happily responded.

We emphasized the equipment and components used that ensure the proper functioning in difficult conditions often encountered in African countries, such as a cooling system that ensures efficient operation in high-temperature areas. As for the autonomy, which is one of the strong features of the DataCup, we believe it is essential for users to be able to find a local battery in case a replacement is needed.
This exchange was incredibly insightful, both for our Burkinabé colleagues and the entire Mind&Go team !
This interaction highlights the hope for a collaboration between Mind&Go and the Founzan commune in Burkina Faso.
