DataCup in the Democratic Republic of Congo

We are pleased to announce our new project to distribute offline digital resources in the Democratic Republic of Congo, focusing on agriculture, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship. This project was developed in response to a special call for proposals fromEnabel, the Belgian Development Agency, whom we sincerely thank for their trust.

21 DataCups and 13 Powercups (to ensure battery recharging in areas without electricity access) will be shipped in July 2025 to various institutions in Kinshasa.

Follow the production steps of the DataCups in our workshop:

Assembly:

Amélie and Guillaume are assembling the product components under the watchful eye of Brigitte, our workshop manager.

Component Installation:

Brigitte is teaching Mathias and Romane how to position and secure the various elements.

DataCup Testing:

Before integration, each module is tested several times to ensure proper functioning.

Internal Wiring:

Nassim and Ruan, supported by Brigitte, connect and secure the cables inside the DataCups.

Final Testing:

Once the assembly is complete, a final series of tests is conducted to ensure everything is properly fitted and connected. This is also when the custom digital content is added.

Conclusion :

Every step, from design to shipment of the DataCups and PowerCups, reflects shared effort, meticulous craftsmanship, and the unwavering trust of our partners.

We thank the Belgian Development Agency Enabel once again for its presence and commitment to improving access to resources in remote areas. This project marks a new chapter for DataCup, expanding into a new country and opening the door to exciting development opportunities.
