MaliBox launch

The French Institute of Mali officially launched the Maliboxes in the presence of students from UCAO University and EPHEP Smart School. The MaliBox runs on a DataCup configured and loaded with content tailored to identified needs, providing offline access to a digital library. 

The French Institute of Mali has long been involved  in collecting cultural content to enrich Culturethèque (culturetheque.com), and agreed to share all MaliBox content with all international broadcast rights within our shared resource library. We worked to integrate these resources, and they are now accessible through the DataCup shared repository.

Mobile Library

The MaliBox cultural collection offers a rich variety of content, including:

  • Concerts such as La Nuit du Taman
  • Feature stories
  • Malian tales in French and Bambara
  • Radio programs such as Muso Kunda's Le magazine de la femme malienne
  • and much more...

These resources are now available to support art workshops for young people.

In all, over 2,800 resources from our basic package were also loaded onto the DataCups.

Handling of the DataCups

Two of the three DataCups acquired by the French Institute of Mali, loaded with MaliBox content, were handed over to the SMART School university and the Wa Kamissoko school complex in December 2023.

Thanks to this initiative, schoolchildren and students now have access to a wider range of resources, opening new educational and cultural horizons.
